Up here in Northumberland it is getting colder! Last week we had our first flurry of snow, making us aware that winter had definitely arrived! The branches have been stripped bare of their leaves, they have all dropped to the ground and been swept away. We sense that the wind of the Holy Spirit has blown through, and we are here waiting, in a season where everything is at rest. Our Daddy God is encouraging us to give space for the “What Next.” As I, Mary, wrote in a poem last Autumn, “…the glory of the Fall is that it is not the end!” Please pray for us as we wait on His leading.
Our heart has always been to nurture and encourage revival in the UK and beyond. We want people, whatever their age, background or culture, to experience the love and power of God, and to know that they are accepted and belong.
One exciting piece of news is that our film documentary, “God on the Move” is being premiered on satellite with Revelation TV, this month. It was so inspiring for us last year, to film even just a little of what God has been up to in one London borough (Havering). We are praying that the broadcasts will encourage and stir up people’s hearts all over the UK, and elsewhere as well! [Revelation TV Ch 581 or live on their website “God on the Move” on Thurs. 14th Dec. 22.00, Wed 27th at 10.30, Thurs 28th at 0300 and Sun 31st Dec at 1630 hrs. The DVD is also available from Shane Mathews, £5.00 (plus £1.00 p&p) 07947779797; e-mail: email@example.com]
In the North- East we have begun to build relationships with other Christians who are excited about bringing the church together in the region. There are groups such as Together Northumberland, Gather North, Together in Christ, and As One North East, who share a very similar understanding to ourselves, of the nature and heart of the Kingdom of God work, in which we are all involved. God spoke to us before we moved, that He is “forging new connections in our lives with other pioneers who have a different spirit, even the spirit of Caleb and Joshua…”
Ministry- wise, we are continuing with some work in London, but also believe that there are new things awaiting us in other parts of the country. We are ready and willing for God to rearrange us and our diaries!
The Well, a monthly worship gathering in the London Borough of Redbridge, began this Autumn, led by Welcome Network members, Sandra Vadivelu and her son, Krishan. Their desire is to bring people into a deeper intimacy with God, and we are encouraging and supporting them. [If you want more information about this contact Sandra Vadivelu, 07540447651.]
It has also been a pleasure to see our book, ‘Singing over Havering’ being placed into libraries, as well as with churches and ministries in the London Borough of Havering.
We both want to say a big Thank you to all our Welcome Network team and supporters! You have been a great blessing in enabling us to develop this work together. Thank you especially for your prayers and financial giving- it has all helped! Please keep in touch and let us know how we can pray for you!
