WELCOME NETWORK AUTUMN NEWSLETTER 2021

September 23, 2021 by BandM Leave a Comment

Dear Partners and Friends of Welcome Network,

Abigail and Scott April 2021

As  a family,  we have the pleasure of more wedding celebrations with our daughter, Abigail and son-in-law, Scott. They got married in a registry office in April, but can now finally have the church wedding celebration this October. Woohoo!

Over the autumn we have been unpacking the content of our Sentness book, subtitled ‘How apostles help us to be apostolic’, with online teaching in four sessions on Being Sent, Parenting, Building and Presenting. Each time we are  having an interview with someone on these themes and will end in November with a Question and Answer panel. The upcoming dates are Mondays 11th Oct, 1st  November and 29th November.

We got excited a couple of years ago at the way Gospel Community Choirs are being used not only to have fun singing together,  but also as a way of showing God’s love to people, as they listen to the lyrics or take part.To our great amazement, it is now happening in our local market town of Alnwick. We have met up with a lovely lady here,  who is now our choir leader,  and we have started the Awake Gospel Community Choir.  We sing a mix of classic and modern gospel songs. About ten of us are involved at the moment.

Locally, in our village, (Shilbottle) we continue to serve in our part-time role as Village Chaplains. It has been a great pleasure to see the community noticeboard we provided, now being used! We are adding a community prayer box,  so that people can post their prayer requests. These will be prayed for confidentially by ourselves and two lovely ladies who do not live locally. We will again be co-ordinating the civic Remembrance Day service this November, with villagers from different Christian backgrounds taking part.

During the lockdown, we started a short worship service on Sundays at 4pm called Bright River Chapel,  ‘an online gathering from Alnwick’*. People join in online, via zoom or facebook, not only locally, but from further afield as well. It has been a joy to fellowship together with dear friends in different parts of the country. If you are local to us, you are welcome to join us as part of the broadcasting/ worship team each Sunday. (*email bobbain@hotmail.co.uk for details)

Our aim is always to encourage and nurture the revival of our nation through the bringing together of the prayers, the worshippers and the prophetic. Earlier in the year we have had a number of events online to do this.

Various groups and individuals have also begun visiting our home and prayer garden – Albafarne again, after quite a pause, due to the covid restrictions. People can come to pray and draw near to God. You are also very welcome! We have also held a Prayer Day ourselves, and an Open afternoon for the village.

The Pockets Conversation group had a social in our garden in the summer. During this last year, we began this group, and started meeting up every month with various mission-minded couples, individuals and small groups, scattered around the North East, to pray, share and encourage one another.

Helping churches – We continue to provide wide-ranging input and advice to ongoing or new, ministries and churches. We don’t charge for what we do, but support towards our work is always welcome.

Last, but not least, we want to thank God for all of you, our Welcome Network team and supporters  – you have been a great blessing especially through the covid pandemic. Thank you for your prayers and financial giving. It has all helped, and we appreciate so much, your input into our lives!

Let us know how you are doing.

Much Love from

Bob and Mary Bain XXX
